hayley’s work is
queer, imaginative, and intuitively political. they blend a combination of physical and visual language to develop theatrical stories for the stage. they aim to make work that is bold, radically inclusive, and in direct address to our political and social landscape.
bio
hayley procacci (they/them) is a writer, director, producer, and deviser based in Chicago and local to New York.
hayley has developed work with Ars Nova, LDK Productions, The Theatre School at DePaul University, SoHo Playhouse, 16th Street Theatre, The National New Play Network, Fringe Encore Series, Chicago Dramatists, Missoula Children’s Theatre, SoHo Playhouse, Red Mountain Theatre Company, and Theater Unspeakable. during the course of their career, hayley has produced over thirty US and world premieres across New York and Chicago stages.
recently, they created a new play, Don’t Ask, which they guest directed at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
in addition to directing, Hayley has taught devising at The Theatre School at DePaul, The University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Missoula Children’s Theatre.
they are also a board member of The Olde School Shakespeare Collective, a non-hierarchical theatre company producing bar Shakespeare in the heart of Andersonville.
hayley holds their BA in performance with an emphasis in directing from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. they have also trained with Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre.
apart from theatre, hayley loves backpacking, rock climbing, surfing, and is currently picking up cycling and learning the drums.
