Excited to announce that my new full-length play, Don’t Ask, was awarded Redtwist Theatre’s Independent Project Initiative grant. The grant will fund a third and final phase of development in Chicago, culminating in a publicly staged workshop. Slated for fall 2026, this final phase of development will send the project into its professional world premiere.

Huge thanks to Kelsey from Ripple and Current for publishing an interview on the making of Don’t Ask and the harrowing true story behind it.

A group of actors or performers on stage in a dark, theatrical setting. Some are engaged in an intense scene, with one woman leaning over a table, reading or examining papers, while others appear tense or focused. A man with glasses and braided hair is holding a small object and looking toward the woman. Chairs are overhead, and the scene is lit with dramatic lighting, emphasizing the serious mood.

Just returned from guest directing my new play, Don’t Ask, as the spring production of the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s mainstage season. I was shocked by how effective the content of the show landed on audiences in the deep South and thoroughly enjoyed teaching undergraduate students in an array of workshops and master classes alongside my contract.

Just returned from the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, where I spent the summer training intensively amidst the California redwoods. I advanced my expertise in Alexander Technique, Laban, mask work, ensemble devising, and physical storytelling to directly enrich my teaching and professional development.

Making sense of 2020

After the pandemic plummeted me from New York City and back to my roots at the base of the Appalachian foothills, I began a new temporary path towards greater presence with myself. In October of 2020, I took thirty days to solo backpack the Vermont Long Trail, a 273-mile trail from the Massachusetts state line to the Canadian border. Then, in March of 2021, I took sixty days to hike the Arizona National Scenic Trail with my partner. The trail is just shy of 800 miles from the Mexican border to the Utah state line.
